Adesuwa Aighewi, a model of Nigerian, Chinese and Thai descent, was discovered while studying chemistry at college in Maryland and has since walked for Kenzo, Coach, Gucci, DKNY, Vivienne Westwood, Chanel and Yeezy, as well as being featured in Vogue, i-D, NYLON, Office and Pop.

Aighewi has also become a prominent voice in the fashion industry and last November wrote an op-ed for The Guardian about the 'politics tied up in black hair' and a 'growing sense of pride in African Americans' which she says is 'having a trickle-down effect into fashion'. In her latest venture, after becoming an editor-at-large for LOVE Magazine, the model, who told DAZED she wants to 'create art - not art for art’s sake, but educational propaganda dressed as beautiful art', made her directorial debut with a film released this month, entitled Spring in Harlem, which explores the beauty of Muslim women as it follows five young women through a market in Harlem, New York.
